Maybe we need to zone the hosts so they can’t see each other, but the MSA’s can see all hosts and hosts can only see the MSA’s? If it’s any indication, the oldest switch firmware in the currently supported list was released in April I have the same question Show 0 Likes 0. I’ve done some reading. You don’t have JavaScript enabled. There are “no” events in the event log other than the power-up entries.

HP StorageWorks Modular Smart Array cs (QuickSpecs/cpdf)

They said they’re still investigating and will be in touch on Monday. So, not too much contention at all. Not sure if this is something that forces the mode mssa1500

We’re in the process of moving to a fully-redundant configuration with the 7. I know the MSA is relatively new, and I saw the post recently that 3.

It’s just unfortunate msa15500 the unit has some problems. How can you have a default config in your FC switches?? I’ve done some reading. The serial port interface contains some commands that allow you to do a performance capture, stop a capture, and view the result.

That might also be the increased cost of the disks. I sent a message to HP’s support to see what they have to say about this.

Please type your message ca try again. I know a lot of people on here hate them. I would not advise upgrading to 7. Or are they used for other purposes? Please turn JavaScript back on and reload this page.

Until last week, for example, the EVA and wasn’t even on the VMware supported list, even though those platforms have been available for use for ages on the HP list. I’m also of the same opinion, but I haven’t found anything to replace it with at the same price-point.

The ‘s we’ve got running are for general use – VMware and other infrastructure applications such as Exchange and File and Print. I don’t think there is a way to continuously monitor the MSAcs. You don’t have JavaScript enabled. Well for me i msa100 trust the msa verry much to many negative experiences, i have more confidence in the eva solution that has proven for a decade that it is a good storage solution.

It’s still more expensive to buy an entry-level EVA compared ds the MSA platform, but the difference in price has decreased, I believe. I’ll keep everyone posted on our progress with HP. Of course this was captured after the problem appeared.

Yes, the firmware levels on the switches are also quite important. That’s exactly the market that the MSA was intended for This tool uses JavaScript and much of it will not work correctly without it enabled.

This would at least eliminate the MSAcs, but not sure if it would provide stability and would also introduce msa1500 single point of failure which is where I’m at today anyways mea1500, and possibly be more expensive than an EVA solution.

I never knew it could change modes on-the-fly though since it would have had to work for a month or so, and then decide to switch. They indicated that zoning is “not” necessary. Another tidbit that I found It’s too bad that online firmware upgrades can be done on the drives, otherwise we would keep them up-to-date more often.

As usual, they act like there’s never been a problem with the MSAcs.

Mssa1500 sure there are many storage options at this point, and the forums are a good place to start looking for recommendations won’t be surprised if you get a lot of responses to your message. Please enter a title.

I’m talking to HP about the problem, so I’d like to give them some feedback from others.
